Meet Dr. Varuna Srinivasan
Dr. Varuna Srinivasan is an author, public health strategist, and physician-trained science communicator whose work examines how sex, gender, identity, culture, and power shape health.
Trained in medicine and public health, she translates complex evidence into writing, education, strategy, and tools that people can use. Her work moves between clinical research and public life, asking not only what we know, but how knowledge is produced, whose bodies are treated as the default, and what gets lost when science is communicated without context.
She is the author of High Maintenance, forthcoming from HarperCollins, and the founder and CEO of Fluid Health, a public health strategy and communications collective. Her writing has appeared in major publications, and she writes regularly about health, identity, and culture. She has advised and collaborated with organizations across public health, reproductive health, advocacy, research, and media.
Across her work, one idea remains constant: the system is part of the diagnosis.
